Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite

Duration: 12-month contract with potential extension and opportunity for full-time conversion
Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Scrum Master to support Agile teams by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching team members on Agile best practices, removing delivery impediments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure predictable delivery and successful sprint execution.

This role requires strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills, along with experience supporting Agile software development teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum Facilitation
  • Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including:
    • Daily Standups
    • Sprint Planning
    • Sprint Reviews and Demonstrations
    • Sprint Retrospectives
    • Backlog Refinement Sessions
  • Ensure meetings are productive, time-boxed, and focused on actionable outcomes.
  • Foster team engagement and accountability throughout Agile processes.
Agile Coaching and Team Development
  • Coach team members on Scrum values, Agile principles, and delivery best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Guide new team members on established team processes, workflows, and Agile methodologies.
  • Support Agile maturity growth across the team.
Impediment and Issue Management
  • Proactively identify and address obstacles impacting team delivery.
  • Escalate unresolved issues and risks to leadership when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with dependent teams and stakeholders to resolve cross-functional constraints.
  • Enable teams to maintain focus on sprint objectives and delivery commitments.
Sprint Execution and Delivery Tracking
  • Monitor sprint progress against established goals and commitments.
  • Track key Agile performance indicators, including:
    • Velocity
    • Capacity
    • Burndown and Burnup Metrics
    • Sprint Predictability
  • Identify risks, delays, and scope changes early and communicate impacts effectively.
  • Support successful sprint completion and release readiness.
Backlog Management Support
  • Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a prioritized and healthy backlog.
  • Ensure user stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR) standards.
  • Validate completion against Definition of Done (DoD) criteria.
  • Facilitate planning discussions and sprint preparation activities.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide regular updates on sprint progress, delivery status, risks, and dependencies.
  • Communicate key milestones, escalations, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate across teams to manage dependencies and drive alignment on delivery objectives.
Agile Metrics and Reporting
  • Maintain Agile reporting dashboards and delivery metrics.
  • Generate and present reports on:
    • Velocity
    • Burndown/Burnup Trends
    • Sprint Predictability
    • Defect Metrics
    • Team Capacity
  • Present delivery insights to leadership, management teams, and governance forums.
Risk and Dependency Management
  • Monitor and manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Identify delivery risks and drive mitigation planning.
  • Track follow-up actions and ensure accountability for issue resolution.
Continuous Improvement
  • Facilitate retrospectives and document improvement opportunities.
  • Drive implementation of agreed-upon action items.
  • Measure and report on process improvement effectiveness.
  • Champion Agile best practices and operational excellence.
Tools and Process Administration
  • Maintain Jira and/or Azure DevOps boards and workflows.
  • Ensure stories, tasks, defects, and statuses are accurately updated.
  • Produce sprint, release, and delivery reports as needed.
  • Support Agile governance and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile team facilitator.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum principles, Agile methodologies, and iterative delivery practices.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and Agile planning activities.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile management tools.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify and remove impediments while driving team accountability.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting technology, software development, or digital product teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile metrics, reporting, and delivery performance measurement.
  • Experience working within large enterprise environments.
