Job Description
We are seeking a SAFe Product Owner to join our dynamic team in the security or banking domain. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile and Scrum practices, backlog ownership, and stakeholder collaboration and a proven ability to drive technology projects, deliver high-quality increments, and manage dependencies across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Define and prioritize the team backlog to align with program priorities while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity.
- Partner with Product Management to build and maintain a product backlog based on business priorities.
- Lead PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and release planning. Set clear expectations for delivery of new functionality.
- Identify and mitigate team dependencies to ensure successful completion of Release and Sprint goals.
- Stay current with Agile and Scrum best practices and emerging trends.
- Adhere to enterprise documentation standards using Jira and Confluence.
- Facilitate daily scrums, planning meetings, and backlog refinement.
- Generate and maintain operational and delivery reports in Jira.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years as a Product Owner within security or banking domains.
- Prior development or QA background.
- Ability to lead technology-driven initiatives and deliveries.
- Proven communication and coordination skills with Developers, Architects, and Business partners.
- Experience eliciting new requirements and sizing efforts.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to propose alternative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear user stories and manage backlogs.
- Strong understanding of SAFe; SAFe POPM certification strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence or similar Agile tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a SAFe Agile environment across multiple teams or ARTs.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards in banking or security, such as GDPR and MRA.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices and tooling.
- Experience with Jira-Atlassian software delivery web applications.
