About the RoleThe Finance Data Management Office (FDMO) drives the Finance data strategy, strengthens enterprise data governance, and partners across Finance, Risk, Technology, and the Chief Data Office to ensure high-quality, well-governed, and well-controlled data.
We are seeking
seasoned data governance and risk professionals who can operate with high autonomy, lead complex initiatives, and influence senior stakeholders across Finance. This role is ideal for individuals with deep financial data domain expertise and strong execution leadership.
What You'll DoData Governance, Risk, & Control Execution- Lead enterprise-scale data management initiatives that improve data quality, integrity, lineage, and usability across critical Finance processes and regulatory reporting.
- Evaluate current-state data, metadata, and data quality conditions; develop risk-based remediation strategies and implementation plans.
- Ensure new business initiatives and technology programs incorporate data governance requirements from the outset.
- Recommend and prioritize data quality remediation aligned with business needs, regulatory expectations, and risk reduction goals.
Initiative Leadership & Decision-Making- Own delivery outcomes for assigned initiatives, managing risk exposure, dependencies, and timelines.
- Make informed decisions in complex, ambiguous scenarios using expertise in Finance data, governance, and business processes.
- Lead cross-functional workstreams, project teams, and junior staff, providing guidance on data governance best practices.
- Execute moderate-risk initiatives ensuring compliance and alignment to internal governance standards.
Regulatory, Reporting & Oversight Support- Oversee data and metadata analysis to support regulatory commitments, audits, and risk management reviews.
- Support issue identification, validation, and remediation closure in collaboration with risk, audit, and control partners.
- Partner with Data Product Owners, Technology, and Business Control teams to ensure sustainable corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence- Serve as a primary data management partner for Finance stakeholders including RAU owners, product teams, and application owners.
- Present insights, risks, and governance recommendations to senior leaders.
- Represent Finance Data Domain Management in cross-functional forums to advance enterprise data governance strategies.
- Collaborate across Finance, Technology, and Risk to deliver aligned and sustainable data solutions.
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project/Program Management, or equivalent (including military or training-based experience).
- Financial services experience is required.
- 4+ years executing, reviewing, or assuring business process controls.
- Experience in audit, risk, compliance, or control-related functions.
- Ability to influence across a matrixed organization and partner effectively with product, technology, and control groups.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable recommendations.
Desired QualificationsLeadership & Communication- Strong executive-level communication with the ability to present complex risk and data topics to senior audiences.

Data, Technology & Analytics- Strong knowledge of metadata management and lineage tools.
- Experience with databases, ETL, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience managing work in Jira.
- Familiarity with SDLC and technology lifecycle processes.
- Strong generative/agentic AI usage skills, including prompt engineering.
- Nice to have: SQL/Python proficiency.
Financial Services & Risk- Hands-on experience supporting regulatory reporting, risk management, or control functions.
- Strong understanding of financial industry regulations, governance models, and risk practices.
- Experience driving cross-functional collaboration on remediation and data improvement efforts.
- Strong project and program management capabilities.
Professional Skills- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to present status, risks, and recommendations clearly.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to Have- Experience with cloud architecture and cloud-specific data risk controls.
