Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) Admin Lead to lead administration, support, automation, and operational governance of OpenShift environments hosted on AWS. This role is responsible for ensuring platform reliability, security, scalability, automation, and developer enablement across containerized workloads. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in OpenShift, Kubernetes, Red Hat Linux, AWS infrastructure, DevOps practices, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), along with strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead administration, configuration, patching, upgrades, and operational support of OpenShift clusters running on AWS
Manage and troubleshoot platform issues across Kubernetes, compute, networking, storage, ingress, IAM, and container runtime layers
Design, implement, and support OpenShift integrations with AWS services including VPC, EC2, EBS, ELB/ALB/NLB, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, and S3
Own cluster health, performance, availability, backup and recovery, scaling, and capacity planning for AWS-hosted environments
Implement and maintain automation for cluster provisioning, configuration management, compliance, and operational processes using Ansible, Terraform, and scripting
Support CI/CD and GitOps enablement using OpenShift Pipelines, ArgoCD, Jenkins, and GitLab
Enforce platform security controls including RBAC, IAM integration, secrets management, network policies, image governance, and platform hardening
Manage namespaces, quotas, storage classes, routes, certificates, and developer self-service capabilities
Partner with cloud, security, application, and operations teams to ensure secure and reliable platform delivery
Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and administrators, and establish operational standards, runbooks, and incident response procedures
Drive platform engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
