Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a motivated Junior Developer to join our development team. This entry-level role is designed for entry level candidates who are eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in software engineering. The focus is on finding an individual with strong communication skills, curiosity, and a proactive attitude, as technical skills will be developed on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and project meetings.
- Work closely with a dedicated mentor to develop and maintain backend services using Java.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements.
- Complete assigned development tasks with guidance and participate in code reviews.
- Learn the organization's systems, processes, and enterprise environment.
- Build strong working relationships across the organization.
- Provide estimates for work and communicate progress or blockers.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
Technical Skills: Foundational knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles is necessary.
Professional Skills: Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions. The ability to work onsite five days per week for the initial month is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Java Spring from academic or project-based work.
- Internship experience or personal coding projects.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum concepts.
- A desire to grow within the company for a long-term career.
Compensation & Benefits
A competitive compensation package is offered for this position with $30-$38 Per Hour and a comparable salary conversion. This role is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent placement.
