Position Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Acumatica consultant to perform environment assessment, analysis, and configuration of an existing Acumatica ERP implementation. This is not a greenfield implementation; the environment is in place and needs care and feeding to stabilize, optimize, and better align with business processes.
The ideal consultant has deep Acumatica functional expertise, strong business analysis skills, and a proven track record of translating business requirements into practical Acumatica configuration and workflows. Development skills are a plus but the primary focus we anticipate is analysis, configuration, and optimization, not netnew custom code.
Engagement Details
- Location: United States (remote) with ability to travel onsite for a limited number of workshops / discovery sessions (Irvine CA)
- Onsite Expectation: Periodic onsite visits (e.g., discovery, whiteboarding, stakeholder workshops); travel expenses billable (Irvine CA)
- Work Model: Primarily remote, standard US business hours, with flexibility for key stakeholder meetings
- Start Date: ASAP, subject to client interviews and background requirements
- Initial Term: 3 6 months, with option to extend
Core Responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive review of the existing Acumatica environment:
- Current modules in use (e.g., Financials, Distribution, Manufacturing, CRM, Project Accounting)
- Customizations, integrations, and key configuration decisions
- User roles, security model, and approval workflows
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand:
- Current business processes and pain points
- Gaps between how Acumatica is configured vs how the business operates
- Desired reporting, dashboards, and KPIs
- Produce a findings and recommendations document covering:
- Quick wins and configuration cleanup
- Mediumterm configuration changes or redesign
- Longerterm roadmap (modules, integrations, optimizations)
- Execute Acumatica configuration and tuning:
- General Ledger, AP/AR, cash management, inventory, order management, etc. as applicable
- Workflows, notification rules, automation steps
- Security roles, access rights, and segregation of duties
- Collaborate with internal IT and business owners to:
- Prioritize configuration changes
- Test and validate changes in a nonproduction environment
- Support UAT and enduser enablement
- Provide knowledge transfer and light training to client SMEs and power users
- Coordinate as needed with any MSP or thirdparty partners supporting infrastructure or adjacent systems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Over 5+ years of handson experience with Acumatica ERP
- Proven experience performing analysis and configuration on existing Acumatica environments (not just netnew implementations)
- Strong functional experience in core ERP processes, such as:
- Ordertocash
- Procuretopay
- Financial accounting and period close
- Inventory and warehouse management
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Map business processes to Acumatica capabilities
- Recommend bestpractice configurations
- Identify and remediate configuration issues that impact stability, performance, or usability
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Comfortable leading workshops and whiteboard sessions with crossfunctional stakeholders (finance, operations, IT, leadership)
- Solid understanding of Acumatica reporting and dashboards (e.g., GI, inquiries, standard and custom reports)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain options and tradeoffs to nontechnical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Acumatica certification(s) or partner background
- Experience in managed services or ongoing care and feeding support models for ERP environments
- Background with integrations to Acumatica (e.g., CRM, ecommerce, custom lineofbusiness apps)
- Experience in the client s industry (manufacturing, distribution, automotive, energy, or similar complex supplychain environments)
- Prior experience working in hybrid onsite / remote engagement models
Candidate Profile Summary
We are looking for a senior Acumatica Consultant who can quickly assess an existing Acumatica footprint, recommend improvements, and execute configuration changes. This person should be comfortable leading clientfacing sessions, documenting findings, and driving configuration work through to completion with minimal oversight. The ability to travel for occasional onsite workshops is required; daytoday work will be remote.

- The starting state of the environment
- The analysis performed
