Field IT Support Technician

We are seeking a skilled Field IT Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support across multiple field offices statewide. This role serves as a critical link between end users and the central IT team, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations that support AGFC s mission.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically strong, and comfortable working independently in field environments while collaborating with a larger IT organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-user technical support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices (Windows, iOS, Android)
• Perform system imaging, software installation, and troubleshooting of hardware and application issues
• Diagnose and resolve LAN and network connectivity issues at field locations
• Manage devices using a device management / MDM platform, ensuring updates and compliance
• Administer user, group, and computer accounts in Active Directory or similar directory services
• Collaborate with the endpoint security team to support account monitoring and system security
• Assist users with secure file transfer and data-sharing platforms
• Support security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations
• Manage incidents and requests through an online ticketing and documentation system
• Act as IT s on-site technical representative, providing leadership and real-time troubleshooting in the field

Travel Requirements

• Regular statewide travel to AGFC offices (average 2 days per week)
• Travel will be conducted with AGFC personnel
• No travel reimbursement required

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in:
• Field technician or on-site IT support
• Desktop and laptop troubleshooting
• Mobile device support (iOS/Android)
• Network administration and basic networking support
• Software installation and maintenance
• Peripheral device configuration
• Help desk / telephone support
• Strong customer service skills with a user-first mindset
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar IT certifications
• Experience supporting macOS
• Google Workspace administration experience
• Experience working in government or public sector environments
