Sr. Project Manager (D365 F&O Implementation)

Resource 1 is in need of a Sr. Project Manager with Dynamics 365 F&O ERP implementation experience to lead a critical phase of a large-scale enterprise transformation. This is a long-term contract with our client based in downtown Chicago. Individual must be local to Illinois to be able to attend an onsite interview and work onsite 2 days per week (Tues/Wed or Tues/Thurs) in downtown Chicago. During some phases of the project, onsite requirements could increase to 3-4 days/week. There will be occasional travel to Ontario, CA to work with other teams.

Our client is undergoing a multi-year (estimated 3-5) financial transformation initiative, which includes the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics to replace over 200 on-prem legacy applications. This role will be responsible for driving execution across multiple workstreams, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring delivery against aggressive timelines while maintaining strong governance and accountability. This is a hands-on, delivery-oriented role requiring an experienced ERP project leader who can operate with minimal direction, proactively manage risk, and maintain momentum in a complex environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a Dynamics 365 F&O ERP implementation, coordinating internal teams, external vendors, and system integrators
• Own project planning, scheduling, milestones, dependencies, and critical path management.
• Establish and maintain project governance, reporting cadence, and executive-level communication.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across business, IT, data, and integration teams.
• Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies; develop mitigation and escalation strategies.
• Manage vendor performance, deliverables, and contract alignment.
• Ensure disciplined change control, scope management, and decision tracking.
• Support readiness activities across data, testing, cutover, and go-live planning.
• Track project deliverables, status, and effort in Azure DevOps (ADO) and assign tasks as needed.
• Manage project in a hybrid Waterfall/Agile environment.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of Project Management experience, with multiple ERP implementation projects.
• Direct experience leading Dynamics 365 ERP projects (Finance & Operations).
• Proven track record managing complex, multi-vendor enterprise initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Be flexible, proactive, detail-oriented, and have the ability to drive projects forward.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tool to manage project and workstreams. 
• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale enterprise or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with data migration and legacy system modernization.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience working alongside systems integrators and third-party data vendors.
