About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the insurance and financial services industry, is seeking a Technical Engineer to provide hands-on support across enterprise technology environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful installation, configuration, and support of network infrastructure, servers, end-user devices, and audio/visual systems.
This is a fully onsite position based in Hartford, CT, with occasional travel and overtime required to support business needs.

Job Description
The Technical Engineer will lead and support a wide range of technical initiatives, ensuring reliable system performance and a high level of service for internal stakeholders. This role combines technical expertise, project coordination, and customer-facing support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, and coordinate installation and implementation of:
    • Computers and peripherals
    • Network equipment
    • Servers and infrastructure
    • Audio/visual and collaboration systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across network, server, workstation, voice, and facility systems
  • Execute and document procedures for system installation, issue resolution, and operational support
  • Serve as a technical lead on complex projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with internal customers, leadership, engineering teams, and peers
  • Provide guidance on equipment standards, usage, and cost considerations
  • Mentor and support team members, assisting with project coordination and daily support tasks
  • Analyze technical and business needs to deliver effective system solutions
  • Manage multiple priorities, balancing project work with ongoing support responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to company policies related to asset management, travel, and overtime
  • Promote a positive team culture and act as a role model within the organization

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer-facing end-user technology support experience
  • Valid driver’s license (for commuting purposes)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and infrastructure systems
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Hartford, CT
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve technical issues in a timely, customer-focused manner
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience supporting Mac/iOS environments
  • Familiarity with:
    • Desktop and laptop configurations
    • Telephony/VoIP systems
    • Audio/visual and collaboration technologies
    • Server configurations and functionality
    • Network topology and infrastructure
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects while supporting day-to-day operations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, isolate, and resolve complex technical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Professional maturity and ability to represent IT effectively to business stakeholders
