The OpportunityWe partner with manufacturers across Grand Rapids seeking Engineering Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and continuous process optimization.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient execution of engineering initiatives.
- Implement and maintain best practices for engineering design, documentation, and quality control.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Recommended Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and their application in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams.
Bonus Qualifications- Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, AI, ML) in manufacturing.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow junior engineering talent.
- Experience managing budgets and capital expenditure projects.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in a manufacturing context.
