Engineering Manager | Grand Rapids, MI

Salary Range: $119,000 - $168,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Grand Rapids seeking Engineering Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and continuous process optimization.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient execution of engineering initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for engineering design, documentation, and quality control.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and their application in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, AI, ML) in manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow junior engineering talent.
  • Experience managing budgets and capital expenditure projects.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in a manufacturing context.
