Engineering Manager | Wyoming, MI

Salary Range: $114,000 - $163,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Drive the implementation of new technologies and automation solutions to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, set timelines, and manage resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Manage departmental budgets, optimize expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion, on time and within budget.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Prior experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., supply chain, quality, production).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
