Engineering Manager | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $118,000 - $167,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Implement and maintain engineering best practices, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management for an engineering team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI/ML, digital twins) and their application in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and their role in engineering workflows.
