Engineering Manager | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $114,000 - $163,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Develop and manage the engineering department budget, allocating resources effectively.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in project management, including the ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD software and other engineering design tools relevant to the manufacturing industry.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and their application in manufacturing.
