Engineering Manager | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $112,000 - $161,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Implement and maintain engineering best practices, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and the application of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Develop and manage the engineering department budget, resource allocation, and staffing plans.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other process improvement frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, advanced robotics).
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and its impact on manufacturing operations.
