Schedule: Fully Onsite
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience in heavy industrial environments-specifically mining-to design, implement, and support our core technology infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise IT and field-level operational technology (OT).
You will be responsible for ensuring that our networks, servers, data storage, and communication systems are resilient, secure, and capable of operating flawlessly in rugged, remote, and environmentally challenging mine sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Industrial Network Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain robust, high-availability networks (LAN/WAN, wireless mesh, LTE/5G, and satellite communications) optimized for remote mining operations.
- Server & Storage Management: Manage on-premises edge computing, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud-integrated storage solutions tailored for data-heavy mining applications.
- IT/OT Integration: Support the hardware and network infrastructure that powers SCADA, PLC networks, fleet management systems (FMS), and autonomosemi-autonomous mining equipment.
- Field Deployment & Commissioning: Travel to active mine sites to physically install, configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure hardware, server racks, cabling, and wireless access points.
- Disaster Recovery & Redundancy: Implement rigorous backup, failover, and disaster recovery protocols to ensure 24/7 operational continuity in environments where downtime equals massive financial loss.
- Cybersecurity Hardening: Apply strict cybersecurity measures to edge infrastructure and industrial control systems (ICS) in alignment with industry standards (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443).
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Network Engineering, or Systems Administration.
- Mining Industry Expertise: Direct experience designing or maintaining IT/OT infrastructure on active mine sites (open-pit or underground).
- Technical Stack: Strong proficiency with Cisco/Aruba networking, industrial switching, firewall management, virtualization, and Windows/Linux server administration.
- Mobility & Safety: Willingness to travel to remote locations (1x per week to Beatty, NV) and full compliance with MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) safety standards and regulations.
- Location: Ability to work out of the Las Vegas, NV office with readiness for field deployment.
Preferred:
- FMS Experience: Familiarity with Mining Fleet Management Systems (e.g., Modular Mining, Caterpillar MineStar, Wenco).
- Certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, VMware VCP, or Microsoft Certified Azure Stack Hub/Edge.
- Current MSHA Certification: Strongly preferred (5023/5027 forms).
