Web Application Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Kansas City, MO is looking for a mid-to-senior level Web Application Developer to support and enhance both legacy and modern web platforms.

Summary:
This is a hands-on consulting role focused on delivering high-quality UI and application functionality across two environments: an existing legacy platform and a newer web portal built with modern front-end technologies. This engagement is project-based with a defined exit upon completion (no conversion to full-time).

Key Responsibilities:
* Support and enhance legacy web applications, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and incremental improvements
* Build and deliver new web portal UIs using modern front-end frameworks
* Work across both platforms, balancing new development with legacy support
* Establish and reinforce front-end standards, best practices, and patterns, particularly within the React ecosystem
* Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
* Communicate clearly and effectively, especially when navigating legacy code and requirements
* Operate independently in a true consulting capacity, driving work forward with minimal oversight

REQUIREMENTS:
* Mid-to-senior level experience in web application development
* Strong React/modern front-end development experience
* Working knowledge of legacy .NET/MVC applications
* Ability to move comfortably between old and new codebases
* Excellent communication skills, particularly when explaining technical concepts
* High level of comprehension and ability to keep pace in rapid discussions
* Proven success in consulting or project-based roles

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
