Role Overview
The PC Tech Manager will provide hands-on leadership and operational oversight for a team of PC Technicians. This role focuses on resource planning, forecasting, and coordination of technical support work. The manager will be responsible for ensuring proper coverage of outstanding tickets, supporting project execution, and proactively planning staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the PC Technician team, including workload coordination and task prioritization.
- Manage and coordinate PC technicians in support of both ongoing support tickets and upcoming projects.
- Plan and forecast resource needs to ensure adequate coverage for current and future ticket volumes and project demands.
- Assign technicians to projects, scale staffing as project needs change, and ensure efficient deployment of resources.
- Perform inventory management related to PC technician operations and equipment.
- Actively manage resourcing rather than reacting to ad-hoc issues, while still addressing those items when necessary.
- Support ticket management by ensuring outstanding requests are properly staffed and resolved.
- Collaborate with leadership on forecasting future technical support needs and operational planning.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience in a PC Technician, PC Tech Lead, or technical support leadership role is required. Some level of management or team leadership experience is necessary, with formal management experience being preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to manage people and work assignments, along with experience in workload planning, staffing coordination, or operational planning within IT or technical support environments.
Skills: Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with leadership and peers.
Preferred Qualifications
- A candidate with management experience who is open to or interested in a contract-based management role.
- An individual comfortable stepping into an established team structure and taking ownership of planning and resourcing responsibilities.
- A proactive, organized individual focused on long-term operational effectiveness rather than reactive management.
Compensation
The anticipated pay range for this position is $45.00 to $60.00 per hour. The final pay rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
