Senior Systems Administrator who has moved beyond helpdesk/user support and can build, manage, and troubleshoot complex server infrastructures from the ground up.
Location: Ft meade, MD (On-site 5 days per week)
Pay: $55-60/hr

What we're looking for:- Clearance: Active TS/SCI (CI Polygraph preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years with a Bachelor's, or 14+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Skills: Proven experience building/maintaining Windows Servers and proficiency in UNIX.
- Certifications:
- Active: Security+ (or any IAT II or higher)
- Active: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date.)

Degree:

- Certifications:
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
- Computing Env: Computing Env: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date.)
- Requirements:
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in configuring and managing both UNIX and Windows operating systems.
- Cloud Administration: Experience with Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (specifically the ability to obtain full AZ104 certification within 180 days).
- Windows Server Specialist: Expertise in the comprehensive administration, management, and continuous updating of Windows Server environments to ensure peak performance and 24/7 availability.
- Infrastructure Management: Skilled in the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software and hardware.
- Network & Server Support: Experience performing system administration for desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
- Tier 1 & 2 Support: Ability to provide problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for client/server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
- STIG Implementation: Mandatory experience applying and maintaining Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to harden systems against security vulnerabilities and ensure strict DoD compliance.
- Responsibilities:
- Responsible for activities related to system administration and installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
- Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work.
- Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.
- Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
- Designs, develops, implements, tests, debugs, and maintains communications systems. Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems, and implements incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach.
- May provide leadership and direction to a team of specialists for these functions.
- Reviews customer requirements and makes recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture. Complies with prescribed customer, industry and agency standards.
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problem
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems
