Linux Administrator

Description

We are looking for a skilled Linux Administrator for a short-term contract position based in remotely. This role involves supporting the setup and configuration of RStudio Connect on a virtual Linux server hosted in Azure. The position is ideal for candidates with strong technical expertise who can deliver results within a quick timeframe of 2-5 days.

Responsibilities:

Install and configure RStudio Connect on a Linux server hosted in Azure.

Set up and configure Python within the same environment to ensure compatibility.

Configure system dependencies and establish proper connectivity.

Validate the deployment process and confirm successful implementation of basic functionalities.

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during installation and setup.

Collaborate with team members to ensure system readiness and alignment with project goals.

Document installation steps and configurations for future reference.

Provide recommendations for optimizing the server environment.

Ensure security protocols are adhered to during setup.

Requirements

Proven experience in Linux system administration, with at least 3 years of hands-on expertise.
Practical knowledge of installing and configuring RStudio Connect (preferred).
Familiarity with Azure environments and virtual server management.
Proficiency in Python installation and configuration.
Strong understanding of system dependencies and connectivity requirements.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members.
Detail-oriented approach to documentation and system validation.
