We are seeking a
Tier 1 Security Analyst to support a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. This role focuses on monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats across enterprise systems and networks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working non-traditional hours, and eager to grow within a cyber operations environment.
This is a
fully on-site role in a production data center and requires flexibility to support rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
Shift Details
- Training Period (Weeks 1-2): Day shift, approximately 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Post-Training:
- Midnight Shift: 12:00 AM - 9:00 AM or
- Swing Shift: 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM
- Weekend and holiday coverage is required as part of normal SOC operations
- Shift rotation may occur; advance notice will be provided
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security events across networks, systems, and applications
- Identify, investigate, escalate, and document potential security incidents
- Respond to alerts generated by SIEM, EDR, email security, and network tools
- Support vulnerability management and risk assessment activities
- Assist with cyber metrics, reporting, and threat intelligence documentation
- Support incident response efforts across the full lifecycle (identify, detect, respond, recover)
- Help maintain and follow SOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of security controls aligned with government and industry standards (e.g., NIST)
- Participate in audits, corrective action tracking, and security reviews
- Provide briefings or updates to senior stakeholders as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- Foundational cybersecurity knowledge with interest in SOC operations
- Experience or familiarity with:
- SIEM tools (Microsoft Sentinel preferred; others acceptable)
- Incident Response processes
- IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection tools
- Vulnerability management concepts
- Exposure to tools such as:
- CrowdStrike or similar EDR platforms
- O365 security alerts and Proofpoint (or similar email security tools)
- Basic scripting or programming exposure (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++)
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a high-tempo environment
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
- Required Certification: One or more of the following:
- Security+
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- Similar industry-recognized cybersecurity certification
Interview Process
- Initial virtual interview with hiring manager and SOC leads (Microsoft Teams)
- Final on-site interview at the data center
