Quality Assurance Manual Tester

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Quality Assurance Manual Tester in Milpitas, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
* Execute manual test cases including functional, system, integration, regression, and exploratory testing
* Validate application behavior across web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
* Execute automated test suites when required and analyze test failures
* Create, maintain, and update test cases, test plans, and test documentation
* Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
* Collaborate with developers and QA team members to reproduce issues and verify fixes
* Analyze business and technical requirements to ensure complete test coverage
* Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
* Perform regression testing to ensure stability after changes or fixes

Job Scope:
* Perform both black-box testing (user-focused validation) and white-box testing (leveraging system knowledge when applicable)
* Ensure applications meet functional requirements, usability standards, and quality benchmarks before release
* Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing strategies

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred but not required)
* Proven experience in manual software testing
* Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail)

Technical Skills:
* Experience testing web applications using browsers such as Chrome and Firefox
* Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms
* Basic understanding of automated testing and ability to execute automated test scripts

Preferred (Nice to Have):
* Exposure to automation tools or scripting
* Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
