Solutions Architect

Location: Denver, Colorado (Remote)
Employment Type: Contract to Perm

Role Overview

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering technology solutions that meet evolving business needs. This position can be a contract-to-hire or direct-hire opportunity and is fully remote. The architect will work with the Digital Product organization to translate business requirements into robust, compliant, and sustainable technical architectures for vendor-based, in-house developed, or hybrid solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and document complex end-to-end solutions that align with enterprise architecture and meet business capability needs.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, integration patterns, and high-quality technical documentation.
  • Conduct impact analyses and risk assessments for proposed solutions, recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure architectural solutions adhere to infrastructure, security, performance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Lead solution architecture reviews through the Architecture Review Board (ARB) process.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, platforms, and vendor solutions.
  • Collaborate with Digital Product teams and business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into architecture roadmaps.
  • Provide architecture leadership and guidance to delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of RFIs, RFPs, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Coach and review the work of other architects and technical team members.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as cloud migration, digital transformation, and data modernization.
  • Stay current with healthcare technology trends and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in IT, including at least 2 years in solution architecture roles, is required.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Enterprise-scale solutions, including the integration of multiple systems.
  • Understanding of infrastructure, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and cybersecurity principles.
  • Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience in healthcare IT systems, including RCM systems, EHRs, patient portals, and clinical workflows.
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Technical depth across application, data, and infrastructure domains.
  • Ability to balance innovation with operational stability.
  • Experience with vendor evaluation and integration.
  • Ability to lead with influence in the absence of direct organizational power.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, or other healthcare IT certifications are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $80.00 and $100.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, and skills.
