-Understand how to break apart monolithic applications and design cloud-native solutions
-Want someone that can think like a Solutions Architect, not just an engineer executing tasks. Need someone who can assess an application and determine the best AWS design and migration approach

-Need someone that is comfortable operating in ambiguity & can create processes where none exist
- Candidate should have a proven track record leading initiatives, driving projects, and figuring out the path forward without instructions. Experience with project management/leadership.

Description
Seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to help drive enterprise cloud modernization initiatives. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and delivering AWS cloud solutions that enable application teams to successfully migrate and modernize workloads from on-premises environments into cloud-native architectures. This is not a traditional support role. LPL is looking for an engineer who thrives in ambiguous environments, can build processes from the ground up, and partners closely with application teams to solve complex business and technical challenges
Qualifications:
5+ years of cloud engineering experience
Hands-on AWS experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
Strong Terraform experience building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions
Experience leading cloud migration or cloud modernization projects
Experience working with microservices and distributed application architectures
Strong understanding of cloud-native application design principles
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Design and implement AWS cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Lead cloud migration and modernization efforts from on-premises environments to AWS
Partner with application teams to assess current-state architectures and develop cloud-native target-state solutions
Refactor applications into scalable microservices-based architectures when appropriate
Guide teams through AWS best practices, cloud adoption, and modernization strategies
Develop and improve cloud delivery processes, standards, and governance frameworks
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver large-scale cloud initiatives
Troubleshoot complex cloud architecture and deployment challenges
Provide technical leadership and recommendations on AWS services and cloud-native design patterns
