Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support various research, reporting, and writing functions. The role involves tracking project labor budgets, performing technical writing and editing, and assisting in the development of financial proposals. The ideal candidate will work with agency management and project teams to understand requirements and contribute to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Research projects and programs related to proposals and documents.
- Track, evaluate, and report on contractor and state payroll project labor budgeting and spending.
- Perform technical and detailed writing, editing, and proofreading of correspondence, communications, and other documents.
- Assist in the development and technical review of federal financial proposals, reports, and planning documents.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements for developing training materials and recommending process improvements.
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to established standards for clarity and terminology.
- Utilize a combination of computer and critical thinking skills to perform duties.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience is required.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience is required in data tracking, reporting, or data validation. The role also requires at least three years of experience documenting, reviewing, and communicating business processes, and three years in accounting operational processing or budget development.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including knowledge of pivot tables and data comparison, is necessary. Experience developing documents based on information from multiple subject matter experts is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous writing experience with financial request documents or justifications in a governmental environment.
- Working knowledge of government regulations related to grant proposal writing.
- Prior experience preparing healthcare information technology proposals.
- Experience with eMars, Budgeting, Accounting, or Human Resource systems.
- Familiarity with the Commonwealth of Kentucky's processes and systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated pay rate for this position is between $35.00 and $43.00 per hour. Please note that this pay range represents a good faith estimate of the compensation that will be offered, determined by factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
