Job Title: SAP SAC Consultant
Start Date: ASAP / Targeting mid-October 2026
Duration: 6-month contract with potential extension or conversion to full-time; full-time also considered
Location: Remote
Interview Dates: Expected to begin the week of September 28
Overview
A Mako client, a government organization, is seeking an experienced SAP Analyst - SAC to help expand and mature its SAP Analytics Cloud environment.
SAP Analytics Cloud is already live, and the organization currently has several complex reports in production. The next phase is focused on significantly expanding reporting and dashboarding across the organization while upgrading the existing Datasphere environment.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently, guide the internal team, and help determine the best approach to building analytics across multiple SAP and non-SAP systems. The hiring manager is focused more on demonstrated capability and independence than a specific number of years of experience.
Current Environment & Project
The organization is looking to expand analytics and reporting across:
- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP SuccessFactors
- Employee Central
- Performance Management and Goal Management
- WorkForce Software / Time & Attendance
- Upcoming Employee Central Payroll implementation
- Financial and budget data
- Potentially additional enterprise systems including Cityworks, OpenGov, GovMax, and other government platforms
One major initiative involves moving existing budget-versus-actual reporting from a custom S/4HANA solution into SAC. The team also wants to combine information from financial systems, HR, legacy S/4 data, Employee Central, and time-and-attendance platforms into more usable dashboards and reports.
The organization is also preparing to upgrade its SAP Datasphere component and will continue developing new reports alongside its implementation partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, enhance, and support SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards, reports, stories, and analytical models.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to determine reporting requirements and translate them into usable analytics solutions.
- Help guide the organization's overall approach to SAC reporting and dashboard development.
- Build reporting across SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Employee Central, WorkForce Software, and other enterprise systems.
- Support the migration of existing reporting processes into SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Work with financial and budget data where information may come from multiple sources.
- Create or modify CDS Views where needed to support reporting requirements.
- Work with the internal SAP technical team on ABAP-related requirements when necessary.
- Support data modeling, integration, troubleshooting, testing, and report validation.
- Collaborate with the implementation partner supporting the SAC environment.
- Help improve how data is presented to business users and leadership, not simply how it is extracted.
- Support the upcoming Datasphere upgrade and continued expansion of the analytics environment.
Ideal Background
The client is looking for someone who is versatile rather than narrowly focused on one area. SAC is the primary requirement, but the strongest candidates will bring broader SAP technical, functional, reporting, or integration experience.
Relevant experience may include:
- SAP Analytics Cloud
- SAP Datasphere
- SAP S/4HANA
- SuccessFactors / Employee Central
- SAC dashboard and story development
- Data modeling
- CDS Views
- SAP reporting architecture
- Financial and budget reporting
- HR and workforce analytics
- SAP integrations
- ABAP knowledge or the ability to work effectively with ABAP developers
Hands-on ABAP development is not the primary focus because the organization already has internal ABAP resources. The role is intended to be broader and more hybrid, with SAC as the primary area of expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Demonstrated experience building enterprise dashboards, reports, stories, or analytical models.
- Ability to independently gather requirements and turn them into working analytics solutions.
- Experience working with SAP data sources, preferably including S/4HANA and/or SuccessFactors.
- Understanding of SAP data structures and reporting architecture.
- Ability to work with CDS Views or closely related SAP reporting technologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a small team where individuals may need to work across multiple areas.
- Ability to independently guide work rather than requiring detailed day-to-day direction
