Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Java Application Developer to join our dynamic team supporting the Product Master Environment (PME), the firm-wide provider of product and pricing reference data consumed by 400+ applications across multiple lines of business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Core Java, Oracle SQL/PLSQL, J2EE, and Hibernate and a proven ability to design, build, and support scalable, business-critical services and components through the full software development life cycle. This role requires three days onsite weekly in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end technical solutions across all phases of the SDLC in a hands-on capacity.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and design solutions for business-critical components.
- Collaborate closely with global technical and business partners.
- Own application design, development, delivery, and post-production support.
- Enhance existing application stacks and act as application manager for key reference data applications within PME.
- Write optimized SQL and implement performant data access and persistence layers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Core Java proficiency, including object-oriented design and multithreading.
- Oracle SQL and PL/SQL with ability to write optimized queries and procedures.
- J2EE and Hibernate for enterprise application development and persistence.
- Python for scripting, tooling, or supplemental services as needed.
- Strong understanding of unit testing concepts and application of testing frameworks.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with software build and release management practices.
- Familiarity with common development patterns and reference data domains.
- Experience delivering scalable, robust applications in multi-technology environments.
- Agile development experience and effective written and verbal communication.
