Sterling OMS Digital Business Analyst / Seattle, WA / (6 Month Contract)

Contract Duration: Initial 6 Months

Work Requirement: Hybrid Schedule (4 Days Working On-site in Seattle)

  • With deep expertise in Sterling OMS and Blue Yonder Commits, the role accelerates backlog readiness, improves solution alignment, and reduces delivery risk across mediumtolarge programs.
  • By partnering seamlessly with product, architecture, and technology teams, this position ensures guestcentric solutions are delivered efficiently while balancing scope, technical constraints, and timeline priorities making it an ideal engagement to strengthen execution during critical transformation or peak delivery periods.

  • Sterling OMS SME Proven expertise in Sterling OMS for functional analysis, issue resolution, enhancements, and data/validation understanding, serving as the bridge between business and technology.
  • Technically Savvy Business Analyst Strong ability to create and work with technical requirements, user stories, and process/data flows without coding.
  • OMS Ecosystem Experience Blue Yonder experience strongly preferred or demonstrated ability to work effectively across complex OMS platforms.

Top Required Skills

  • SME in Sterling OMS for functional analysis, issue research, enhancement requests, and understanding data/validations, acting as a bridge between business and tech.
  • Blue Yonder experience is also extremely important, but they will consider candidates without it if they are a Sterling OMS SME
  • While not coding, the BA must be technically savvy, capable of understanding and contributing to tech requirements, user stories, process flows, and data flows.

About this team

  • The business analyst team works closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to create both experience and technical requirements for rich features and functionality to support our guest experience.
  • The team works very closely with business owners and product managers in the digital space to ensure digital roadmaps are created and managed according to the requirements needed to solve the high priority problems within each roadmap.
  • The business analyst team is organized, values research, great at facilitation, problem solving and brining the right skill sets together to ensure we have aligned requirements to enhance our guest experience across our digital properties.
  • Translating business strategy into feature/project requirements is a specialty of this team.

A day in the life:

  • Works closely with Product Managers, Business Owners, and Technology teams to ensure requirements are in place and understood.
  • Responsible for ensuring acceptance criteria is aligned.
  • Works closely with Architects to ensure system implications/dependencies are understood.
  • Facilitates requirements and solution options conversations with Technology Teams.
  • Gathers and documents functional and technical requirements
  • Collaborates with business owner and/or product manager to groom and prioritize backlog
  • Makes sure requirements incorporate identified dependencies, solution options, architectural decisions, security and privacy recommendations
  • Aligns with product manager on overall scope and sequencing recommendations
  • Utilizes artifacts such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro, and Business Process Documentation to facilitate requirement alignment sessions

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of business analyst experience within eCommerce industry
  • Expertise in Sterling OMS and Blue Yonder Commits
  • Experience providing requirements for medium-to-large initiatives
  • Experience working with both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience translating strategy into feature development roadmaps
  • Demonstrated experience making tradeoffs between business needs and technology constraints while keeping the guests need at top of mind
