We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment at a leading tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have recent PCU/Stepdown experience, strong critical care skills, and expertise in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, respiratory care, and patient-centered nursing.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products.
Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and arterial lines.
Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC.
Monitor and titrate vasoactive drips and heparin protocols.
Participate in rapid response and code team activities.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR.
Follow infection prevention, isolation precautions, and patient safety protocols.
Float to ICU or Medical-Surgical units as required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
Recent PCU/Stepdown/Intermediate Care experience.
Active New York RN License.
Epic EMR experience.
Travel nursing experience required.
Experience caring for Med/Surg patient ratios up to 1:5–1:7.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous Charge Nurse experience.
Strong critical care and telemetry background.
Unit Information
Adult & Geriatric patient population.
Patient Ratios:
Days: 1:3
Nights: 1:4
Every other weekend required.
Floating to ICU/Medical-Surgical units as needed.
16-hour orientation provided.
