We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst with experience in the Insurance domain (P&C, Life Insurance, or Workers Compensation) to collaborate with product owners, IT teams, and business stakeholders. This role focuses on gathering requirements, designing system solutions, and leading testing efforts, with a strong emphasis on SQL and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners, IT teams, and stakeholders to gather and document business requirements
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and document analysis for system enhancements and new solutions
- Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Develop functional specifications, system design requirements, and workflow diagrams
- Partner with architects, developers, and DevOps teams to design scalable solutions
- Support project planning, including timelines, scope definition, and resource estimation
- Participate in project implementation and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Conduct system testing, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Define acceptance criteria and ensure quality deliverables
- Lead UAT sessions and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements
- Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure clear communication
- Provide training and support to end-users on system functionalities
- Collaborate with data teams to ensure accurate data integration and reporting
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL and data visualization tools
- Coordinate product releases with DevOps, release management, and support teams
- Monitor product performance post-launch and implement improvements
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as SOX and PCI-DSS
- Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure application security
- Support audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
- Experience in Insurance domain (P&C, Life Insurance, or Workers Compensation)
- Strong SQL experience
- Experience with low code platforms
- Experience with data visualization tools (preferred)
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, or containerization technologies
- Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe
Skills Needed
- Knowledge of automation tools, monitoring, and logging platforms
- Proficiency with business analysis tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., ADO, Jira, Asana)
- Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
- Understanding of ERP/CRM systems and business processes
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Project management and organizational skills
- Adaptability to new systems and technologies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
