Position Details:
• Needs Someone who can jump in and contribute from day 1
o If someone has 5+ yrs - they should be able to ramp quickly.
1. Is this more net-new feature development, modernization of legacy Angular code, or optimization/maintenance of existing systems? What’s the rough split?
• Multiple apps
• Older version Angular 14 - 21
• 5 yrs experience will allow them to work on all versions
• a mix of new features, legacy improvements
1. You mention Angular as primary and React as a plus: what is the current stack breakdown (Angular versions in use, any React, any Next.js usage today)?
• 1 or 2 apps in React - used for small features and maintenance
• React not necessary (good if they have it)
1. How “pure” front-end is this role versus full stack — what percentage of time do you realistically expect on Node.js/Express/Next.js work?
• Pure front-end / not full-stack
1. Are you using any design systems or component libraries (Material, in-house design system, Figma-based libraries)? How tightly is the front-end aligned to Figma assets?
• Figma created from design team
• in-house libraries
• Most tasks initially will be supporting existing / fixing features
Day-to-day responsibilities
1. What does a typical week look like for this engineer in terms of coding vs. discovery vs. ceremonies vs. production support?
o Mixed - primarily coding
Candidate must-haves vs. nice-to-haves
1. Of all the skills listed (Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, testing, Node.js, Docker/Kubernetes, Figma, React, GraphQL, etc.), which 3–5 are true non-negotiable must-haves?
o Angular 80 - 85%
o Everything else is a plus. If they have it on the resume it will be asked.
2. How important is prior experience in People Systems, HR tech, or internal tools versus pure front-end product work?
• No previous experience needed - these are just apps. For FTE roles they look for people familiar with these tools / areas
1. For Node.js/Express/Next.js, is “big plus” something you’d actually screen for, or is it opportunistic?
• Should not be on interview unless it is on their resume. They will not specifically ask about them or to code.
