Job Description:

Role: Technical Product Manager - AI Tools

Location: Hybrid - 4 days/week onsite in SE MI

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Job Description:

As the Technical Product Manager for our ecosystem of AI Tools, you will lead the strategy, adoption, and value realization of AI solutions that accelerate the design, development, and validation of vehicle electrical and software systems. This role blends product leadership, technical depth, and internal evangelism.

You are not just managing backlogs-you are a hands-on practitioner who rapidly prototypes AI-enabled solutions, proves business value, and scales successful innovations across the global VESSE engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

Ecosystem Strategy & Evangelism
  • Serve as the lead product champion for the AI tool portfolio, driving adoption across electrical, software, and systems engineering teams.
  • Embed deeply in VESSE engineering workflows to identify pain points and translate them into actionable AI features and roadmap enhancements.
  • Lead workshops, internal demos, and "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) sessions to showcase how AI tools solve real engineering bottlenecks.
  • Advocate for AI-first thinking across the ecosystem.

Rapid POC Development (Low-Code / No-Code)
  • Build functional, "quick-win" proof-of-concepts using low-code/no-code platforms such as Streamlit, GitHub Copilot extensions for VS Code, and agent-based tools leveraging Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini models.
  • Prototype AI-driven solutions including automated requirements analysis, synthetic data generation, or predictive E/E architecture optimization.
  • Use prototypes to validate technical feasibility and user desirability before committing full-scale engineering resources.

Business Case & KPI Ownership
  • Develop robust business cases for new AI tools and features.
  • Quantify value against VESSE-specific KPIs, including:
    • Engineering hours saved
    • Defect Detection Rate (DDR)
    • Time-to-market reduction
    • System reliability improvements
  • Track ROI and report measurable impact of the AI ecosystem across the vehicle development lifecycle to executive leadership.

Technical Integration & Lifecycle Management
  • Ensure AI tools are tightly integrated with standard VESSE workflows and platforms, including SysML, AUTOSAR, MBSE tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to ensure access to high-quality, labeled engineering data for model training and fine-tuning.
  • Support end-to-end lifecycle management from concept through production adoption.

Required Qualifications

Technical & Domain Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in Vehicle Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • E/E architectures
    • ECU communication (CAN, Ethernet)
    • Software-defined vehicle concepts

Product Management Skills
  • Strong experience working with Jira.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including full-stack developers, data engineers, and API developers.
  • Clear understanding of roles, responsibilities, and dependencies across engineering and product teams.
  • Proactive, self-driven mindset with a willingness to go above and beyond expectations.
  • Strong interest in learning and applying AI concepts to improve products and processes.

Nice to Have
  • Conceptual understanding of software development and UI/UX (hands-on development not required).
  • Familiarity with productization and bringing applications into production, including end-to-end project delivery.

Preferred Skills
  • Big Data
  • Data Science
  • Analytics
  • Full Stack Concepts
  • Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems

Experience & Education
  • Experience Required: 3-5 years in a relevant field
  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree
