Job Title: Electrical Engineer II (Metering Systems & Quality Assurance)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Electrical Engineer II to lead the evaluation, testing, and validation of complex metering systems and ancillary hardware. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing rigorous test plans, ensuring that all metering technologies meet strict regulatory and industry performance standards. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert, balancing high-level engineering strategy with hands-on laboratory evaluation to ensure the successful deployment of grid-modernization infrastructure.

This is a versatile engineering role for a professional who thrives on solving difficult technical problems that require the adaptation of standard procedures. You will work closely with laboratory technicians and cross-functional project teams to diagnose performance issues, validate new equipment, and maintain quality assurance throughout the deployment lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
Testing, Evaluation & Compliance
Test Plan Execution: Develop, refine, and execute comprehensive test plans for single-phase, polyphase meters, and ancillary metering devices.
Laboratory Operations: Lead laboratory evaluations, collaborating with technical staff to conduct complex testing while adhering to stringent safety protocols and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all devices and installations remain in full compliance with relevant national electric codes, ANSI standards (specifically the C12 suite), and regional utility commission requirements.
Quality Assurance: Monitor technical quality standards throughout the product/deployment lifecycle, proactively addressing performance issues to ensure long-term system reliability.

Technical Problem Solving & Collaboration
Engineering Analysis: Apply intensive and diversified engineering knowledge to solve difficult problems, frequently devising new approaches when standard procedures are insufficient.
System Integration: Support the installation and testing of complex metering hardware; analyze performance data to validate system interoperability.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as a technical liaison between engineering, field operations, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless hardware integration and resolution of technical bottlenecks.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
Experience Baseline: Minimum of 5+ years of professional engineering experience, with a focus on metering, electrical infrastructure, or systems testing.
Technical Mastery:
oIn-depth knowledge of ANSI C12 standards and the National Electric Code.
oProven ability to design and manage complex test plans for hardware or metering systems.
oHands-on experience with laboratory testing methods, electrical safety protocols, and complex hardware evaluation.
oUnderstanding of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems and interoperability principles.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt and modify standard engineering techniques for non-standard challenges; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Attributes
Hands-on experience with laboratory-based testing of electrical/metering devices.
Proven track record of working effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment.
Experience with regulatory filings or working directly with regulatory bodies.
Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, technical reporting, and compliance auditing.
