Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Houston, TX.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a large-scale switch and wireless access point (AP) refresh project across North America. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, working closely with a Project Manager and on-site rack/stack resources to technically lead switch refresh implementations. The Engineer will be responsible for staging and configuring switches out of the Houston office and guiding remote on-site resources during weekend implementation windows. This role requires strong technical expertise, solid documentation skills, and clear communication.

Key Tasks:
* Network Engineer will lead the technical execution of switch and AP refresh projects across North America
* Draft, review, and validate network designs in accordance with published standards
* Stage and configure network switches in the Houston office prior to deployment
* Partner with the Project Manager to plan and execute refresh activities
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to remote rack and stack resources during implementations
* Support weekend (Saturday/Sunday) cutover and implementation work, which is when most refresh activity will occur
* As a Network Engineer, you will ensure configurations, changes, and designs are properly documented
* Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoff and minimal disruption during refresh events

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching in enterprise environments
* Strong hands-on experience with Aruba wireless (APs and controllers)
* Proven experience executing network switch refresh or hardware refresh projects
* Experience working from standardized network design and configuration documentation
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to direct and support remote on-site technicians
* Ability to stage, configure, and validate switches prior to deployment
* Comfortable working in a project-driven environment with defined timelines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
