Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer (L3 Support)

The Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer will provide L3 backup and recovery support, helping ensure critical systems and data are protected, recoverable, monitored, and aligned to business continuity needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L3 support for backup and recovery platforms.
Monitor backup jobs, alerts, failures, capacity, and recovery readiness.
Troubleshoot backup failures and recovery issues.
Support recovery testing, disaster recovery planning, and audit readiness.
Work with compute, storage, network, cloud, and security teams to protect critical systems.
Maintain backup documentation, procedures, schedules, and recovery records.
Coordinate with vendors for backup platform issues and escalations.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
Support on-call rotation and critical incident response.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of infrastructure, systems, backup, or recovery support experience.
Strong L3 backup and recovery support experience.
Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediating backup failures.
Understanding of storage, compute, virtualization, cloud, and disaster recovery dependencies.
Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to support critical incidents and on-call needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with enterprise backup tools such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar platforms.
Healthcare or critical operations experience.
Disaster recovery, audit, or compliance experience.
Experience with VMware, cloud backup, or storage platforms.
