Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to lead technology operations in the Norwalk, Connecticut area. This role is responsible for maintaining a secure, reliable infrastructure while guiding day-to-day IT support and strengthening overall technical standards. The ideal candidate brings broad hands-on knowledge across servers, networking, and cybersecurity, along with the leadership skills to manage support resources and coordinate effectively with external technology partners.
Responsibilities:
Direct daily IT operations to ensure dependable performance across infrastructure, systems, and user support services.
Oversee server administration, backup processes, and core systems maintenance to support business continuity and operational stability.
Strengthen cybersecurity practices by monitoring risk, improving controls, and working with specialized providers on around-the-clock protection.
Lead and mentor IT support staff, setting priorities and providing guidance on issue resolution and service delivery.
Collaborate with third-party vendors for infrastructure, data center, and after-hours support, ensuring timely response and consistent service quality.
Troubleshoot network and system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
Establish and refine IT best practices, standards, and procedures to improve efficiency, resilience, and overall technology performance.
Support ongoing infrastructure improvements and recommend practical enhancements aligned with business needs.
Requirements
Proven experience leading IT operations in a lead or manager-level capacity.
Strong working knowledge of server environments, system administration, and backup technologies.
Solid understanding of IT security principles and experience supporting secure infrastructure.
Familiarity with Active Directory and day-to-day administration of enterprise systems.
Working knowledge of basic networking concepts and hands-on network troubleshooting ability.
Experience managing or mentoring technical support personnel.
Ability to coordinate effectively with external vendors and service providers.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and a structured approach to service management.
