UI Designer - Portfolio Management Platforms

Location: St. Louis, Missouri (On-site)

Employment Type: Contract

Rate - $53.13 to $55.00

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a UI Designer to support Trading and Portfolio Management Platforms within the Investments and Wealth Management space. This role focuses on designing intuitive, scalable, and compliant user interfaces for complex trading, portfolio management, and operational workflows across Unified Managed Account (UMA) and Separately Managed Account (SMA) platforms. The designer will partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Operations teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into effective UI solutions in a regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver user interface solutions for trading, portfolio management, rebalancing, and operational workflows.
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity UI designs, and interactive prototypes using Figma.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into UI designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end workflow documentation, including current-state and future-state process maps.
  • Identify usability issues, workflow inefficiencies, and design risks, and recommend solutions aligned with product strategy.
  • Present design concepts and workflow solutions to stakeholders and incorporate feedback iteratively.
  • Ensure UI designs comply with regulatory, operational, and platform constraints.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in UI, UX, or Product Design within an enterprise or platform-based product environment.
  • Hands-on experience using Figma for wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes.
  • Experience designing complex workflows for portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, or operational platforms.
  • Background in financial services, wealth management, or investment platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including Jira, backlog refinement, and sprint ceremonies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Trading Platforms, Portfolio Management, UMA, or SMA solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise design systems and component-based UI frameworks.
  • Experience documenting current-state and future-state workflows or process maps.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience with Orchestra or a similar investment platform.
