Senior Digital Product Designer - Job Description

General Function

The Senior Digital Product Designer partners closely with Digital Product, Design, and Engineering teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to shape the future of a commercial mobile application. This role is a key contributor within the User Experience organization, ensuring that digital experiences are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with user needs. Responsibilities include leading user-centered discovery, developing information architecture, and creating design concepts and prototypes that reflect universal experience principles and deliver meaningful value to customers.

This position is responsible for openly sharing ideas, raising concerns, and adhering to established policies and procedures. It serves as a liaison between Risk, Audit, and Analytics teams, ensuring that decisions support a positive customer experience while operating within the organization's risk appetite. The role requires consistent identification, assessment, management, and reporting of risks across all categories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with UX team members to research, conceptualize, and design intuitive experiences that simplify complex functionality.
  • Develop design recommendations including site maps, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes.
  • Support user research activities such as usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and user interviews.
  • Advocate for user needs while partnering with cross-functional teams to understand business goals and technical constraints, driving customer-centric strategies forward.
  • Work closely with development teams throughout implementation to ensure the intended user experience is delivered.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning by sharing knowledge, best practices, and design insights with peers and collaborators.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree or certification in Design, with a focus on Experience Design, User Experience, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a role directly aligned with the responsibilities of this position.
  • A portfolio demonstrating professional-level design skills relevant to this role.
  • Strong ability to articulate and defend design decisions.
  • Foundational understanding of agile product development methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to or training in Design Thinking principles is a plus.
  • Ability to build trust and identify opportunities for impactful improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others in design, technical skills, and innovation methods.
  • Passion for delivering holistic, end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Comfort working iteratively and making informed decisions with incomplete information, adjusting based on feedback.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, and responsive design best practices.
