The Role: SAP SME in Transportation Management.
Experience in A&D Industry a plus. Hands on writing functional specifications, configuration, testing, and design.
Pay rate: $85/Hour - $95/Hour (based on experience)
We are looking for a heavy-hitter in the SAP space someone who lives and breathes Transportation Management (TM). This isn't just a "support" role; you will be the primary architect of how we move high-value assets across the globe. You will work between complex logistics requirements and technical execution, ensuring our SAP environment is as precise as the aerospace hardware we move.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design: Lead the design and end-to-end configuration of SAP TM, including Freight Order Management, Planning, Tendering, and Settlement.
Technical Blueprinting: Translate complex business needs into crisp Functional Specifications. You will be the primary link to the ABAP development team, ensuring custom enhancements are logical and scalable.
Industry Compliance: Apply deep knowledge of Aerospace & Defense (A&D) requirements, specifically focusing on serialized part tracking, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) logistics, and regulatory trade compliance.
System Configuration: Perform hands-on configuration of Planning Profiles, Selection Profiles, and Condition Technics to optimize freight movements.
Testing & Validation: Own the testing lifecycle. This includes rigorous Unit Testing, Integration Testing (with EWM, SD, and MM), and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the system is "mission-ready."
Strategic Advisory: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for senior stakeholders, providing insights on how to leverage S/4HANA TM features to reduce freight spend and improve visibility.
Required Skills & Experience
SAP TM Mastery: Minimum of 4-5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Transportation Management.
A&D Domain Knowledge: Proven experience navigating the unique logistics challenges of the Aerospace or Defense sectors (e.g., handling sensitive/oversized cargo or ITAR-regulated shipments).
End-to-End Lifecycle: You have successfully taken at least 2 full-cycle implementations from blueprinting to go-live.
Integration Fluency: Strong understanding of how TM integrates with EWM, S/4HANA, and external carrier portals.
Communication: The ability to explain complex technical logic in a human way no hiding behind jargon.
