Web Editor / Digital Content Specialist
Hybrid: T, W, Thr onsite in Glen Allen, VA
Rate: $55-$60 per hour W-2
This is a 4-5 month contract with possibility of extension
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Web Editor / Digital Content Specialist to support website maintenance, content updates, accessibility compliance, SEO optimization, and digital quality assurance activities for enterprise web platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong CMS experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple website and email communication updates in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain website content, pages, and site structure using enterprise CMS platforms
- Ensure content accuracy, formatting consistency, usability, and brand alignment
- Monitor and resolve broken links, content issues, formatting errors, and website bugs
- Perform QA testing for website updates, enhancements, and releases
- Support ADA/WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance initiatives
- Apply SEO best practices to improve website visibility and performance
- Assist with email content migration, template QA, and deployment activities
- Collaborate with marketing, UX, development, and agency teams on digital initiatives
- Maintain website change logs and release documentation
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in web editing, digital content management, or website operations
- Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Kentico, or similar
- Strong editing, proofreading, and web QA/testing skills
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and ADA/WCAG accessibility standards
- Experience troubleshooting website issues and validating updates prior to deployment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise or regulated industry websites
- Familiarity with UX and information architecture principles
- Experience with email marketing or communications platforms
- Basic understanding of website analytics and performance monitoring
