About the Role
The client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Business Intelligence (BI) Architect to join our team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our data-driven decision-making capabilities. As a BI Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable BI solutions, guide the migration to cloud-based reporting technologies, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights through intuitive dashboards and reports.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Modeling: Design and maintain robust data structures to support enterprise reporting and dashboarding needs.
Semantic Layer Design: Develop semantic models tailored to business users, ensuring data is accessible and meaningful.
Report & Dashboard Development: Create user-centric, functional, and visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI.
BI Governance & Process Design: Collaborate with the Director of Analytics to establish governance frameworks and streamline BI processes.
Technology Implementation: Lead the migration from on-premises Power BI to Power BI in the cloud, ensuring a smooth transition.
Strategic BI Program Development: Support the development of self-service BI strategies and promote data literacy across the organization.
Training & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor and train an internal Application Architect, with a long-term goal of handing off responsibilities.
Technical & Leadership Duties
Architect and implement BI solutions including data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and data visualization tools.
Ensure BI systems are scalable, secure, and well-integrated with existing infrastructure.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to design and optimize ETL processes and data lakehouse integration.
Define and monitor KPIs and business metrics to drive performance insights.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance and privacy standards.
Present insights and recommendations to leadership in a clear and impactful manner.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in BI architecture, data analysis, or related roles.
Proficiency in Power BI and SQL; experience with data warehousing and ETL tools.
Strong understanding of BI governance, data modeling, and UX principles in dashboard design.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
Familiarity with machine learning and advanced analytics techniques.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
