ServiceNow Software Engineer (Enterprise Applications)

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of ServiceNow development/engineering experience
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) certifications
  • Experience with JavaScript (including ServiceNow scripting such as GlideScript)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) or Playwright
  • Full-stack Java development experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST, SOAP, APIs)
  • Business Continuity Management (BCM) domain experience
  • Experience developing and managing Service Catalog items
  • Experience with data imports and transformation (Import Sets, Transform Maps)
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow data model, including table extensions
About the Job

As a ServiceNow Software Engineer, you will design, build, and enhance enterprise-grade applications on the ServiceNow platform. You will contribute to two critical applications: the Enterprise Services Portfolio (ESP), a custom-built system of record for enterprise services, and Business Continuity Management (BCM), which supports enterprise resiliency.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions, improve automation, and implement integrations with external systems.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications and platform customizations
  • Build and enhance ServiceNow solutions using JavaScript and platform-native scripting tools
  • Implement integrations between ServiceNow and external systems (including full-stack Java applications)
  • Develop and maintain Service Catalog items, including complex workflows
  • Support and enhance Enterprise Services Portfolio (ESP) and BCM applications
  • Implement automation strategies using Playwright and/or ATF
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and reviews
  • Troubleshoot production issues and deliver ongoing platform improvements
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in configuration, development, and platform governance
Required Questionnaire

Candidates should be prepared to discuss:
  1. Examples of ServiceNow applications they have developed or customized
  2. Experience with ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, GlideScript) and how it was used to enhance functionality
  3. Details of a ServiceNow integration they implemented
  4. Experience developing Service Catalog items, including at least one complex example
  5. Understanding of ServiceNow table inheritance and when to extend versus create new tables
  6. Experience with data imports and implementation approach
