Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer - 1 position

About the Role
ServiceNow s Global Cloud Services Capacity Engineering team is seeking a proactive, motivated Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support datacenter operations, network/server incident response, and automation improvements.
This role is handson in ServiceNow s own datacenters and requires an engineer who works with speed, confidence, and independence at the senior level.
You ll focus primarily on operational SRE-type execution - infrastructure provisioning and system and network incident handling - with opportunities to grow into DevOps build pipeline automation and eventually productlevel automation contribution.

Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and validate server racks in ServiceNow datacenters using existing automation workflows
- Handle Linux server and network infrastructure incidents
- Execute daytoday operational tasks and generate dashboards/reports
- Improve and maintain automation, runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting documentation
- Execute automation flows using internal orchestration tools (e.g., Flow Designer calling Ansible, Python, etc.)
- Leverage AI tools to improve speed and accuracy in operations work
Growth Path
- Contribute to build and test pipeline automation and infrastructureascode improvements
- Help develop holistic automated test frameworks used by the product organization
- Create/extend scripts, modules, and automation routines (Python, Bash, Ansible, etc.)
LongerTerm Potential
- Contribute to hyperscaler automation development (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)
- Participate in internal cloud/infra product engineering efforts
- Drive enhancements to largescale automation frameworks
Required Skills
- 3 5+ years of experience in systems, network, datacenter, DevOps, or SRE roles
- Strong Linux administration fundamentals
- Handson experience with:
- Networking basics (routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, load balancers)
- Scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
- Automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalents
- Experience supporting onprem hardware environments (rack/stack, troubleshooting, lifecycle)
- Ability to follow and extend automation workflows
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work quickly under pressure
- Clear written/verbal communication
