IT Security Specialist

Description

We are looking for a skilled IT Security Specialist to oversee the operational security of enterprise infrastructure in Syracuse, New York. This position focuses on maintaining a robust security posture through continuous diagnostics, mitigation efforts, and proactive measures to ensure the integrity and health of IT environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in both Windows and Linux systems, coupled with a strong understanding of security operations at the infrastructure level.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT security operations.

Proficiency in managing security for Windows Server and Linux technologies.

Strong understanding of system hardening and vulnerability remediation processes.

Familiarity with industry standards such as NIST and ISO 9001.

Experience in documenting processes and compliance protocols.

Knowledge of database security and data privacy best practices.

Ability to coordinate and execute security measures in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.

Excellent troubleshooting skills in identifying and resolving security issues.
