Role Overview
The Storage IPv6 Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of storage systems within an IPv6-enabled network environment. This role involves ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of storage resources, as well as managing IPv6 configurations and addressing issues related to both storage systems and IPv6 networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage.
- Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data is regularly backed up.
- Monitor the performance of storage systems to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Configure storage technologies to communicate over IPv6 in addition to IPv4.
- Monitor storage capacity, health, and performance metrics.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of related experience providing storage solutions engineering support, including storage management, administration, and maintenance of storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS) ensuring high availability and performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of IPv6 networking, addressing, routing, subnetting, network design, and troubleshooting background.
