Job Summary
The Clinical Cardiology PACS Administrator will provide Cardiology application support and training to Heart and Vascular staff, providers, and various support staff. Additionally, they will act as a Cardiology PACS liaison between the Heart and Vascular Service Line and the IT Department.
Responsibilities
Core Duties
-Functions under the direction of the Heart and Vascular Service Line leadership.
-Collaborate with the Heart and Vascular Service Line leadership and members of the Vandalia Medical Imaging IT Team to provide an effective Cardiology PACS support model to users throughout Vandalia Health North.
-Excellent communication is required to keep all parties up to date on the current and future status of the Cardiology PACS system. The free flow of communication with Heart and Vascular Service Line leadership and Vandalia Medical Imaging IT Team is key to being a successful Cardiology PACS Administrator.
-Functions under the direction of the Heart and Vascular Service Line with oversight from the Imaging Technology Manager.
-Collaborate with the Vandalia Medical Imaging IT Team and members of the Cardiology team to provide an effective Cardiology PACS support model to users throughout Vandalia North. Submits written recommendations to the Imaging Technology Manager and Heart and Vascular Service Line Director.
-Excellent communication is required to keep all parties up to date on the current and future status of the Cardiology PACS system. The free flow of communication with cardiologists, Heart and Vascular Service Line leadership, department leaders, and Imaging Technology team is key to being a successful Cardiology PACS Administrator.
-Resource person for 3D post-processing system(s).
-Under supervision, performs troubleshooting activities, investigates fixes, implement fixes and workarounds to ensure a high-level of performance to the system, and to improve customer satisfaction.
-Promptly responds to Cardiology PACS user requests for support throughout Vandalia.
-Defines, conducts, recommends, and assists in end-user training requirements. Provides PACS training information and is a Cardiology PACS resource for:
-Medical Imaging staff
-Cardiologists
-Providers and support staff
-Nursing staff
Specific Cardiologist support:
o Participates in the training of staff and is an ongoing resource for the Heart and Vascular Service Line.
o Under supervision, gathers and uses all available resources in assisting the cardiologists.
o Proactively and regularly performs rounding with Heart and Vascular staff to provide in-person and remote support. Take suggestions and requests from the staff to the Heart and Vascular leadership team.
Gathers and analyzes end-user requirements through interviews or survey forms.
Recommends resolution options of key issues to the Vandalia Medical Imaging IT manager.
Common daily tasks:
o Merge images in Cardiology PACS o Corrects PACS anomalies.
o Sharing of images.
Assists and supports Heart and Vascular Quality Technologists and other technologists with their workflow for corrections.
Image sharing:
o Participates hands-on in the image sharing workflow as required. o Image sharing issue investigations.
o Train staff from multiple areas on image sharing workflows.
Other various tasks that support the Heart and Vascular Service Line
- Downtime situations: Effectively and efficiently participates in guiding the Heart and Vascular Services team members through system downtimes in keeping with the preset departmental downtime procedures. Identifies methods for improving the downtime process and reducing impact on operational safety and efficiency. Submits written recommendations to the Heart and Vascular leadership team.
-With input from the Heart and Vascular leadership team, participate in ongoing education and training to stay at the forefront of PACS technology, and new and future imaging exams and modalities. Methods of education may include seminars, vendor training, certification programs, etc.

Experience
-3 years of cath lab experience required. 5 years of cath lab experience preferred.
- MERGE Cardiology PACS experience required.
Working Conditions
-5 days per week during working hoursand potentially after hours for upgrades and go-lives as applicable.
-Standing and Sitting
-Travel to Mon Health System and Davis Health System required with remote work opportunity available. Ability to work in the cath lab or non invasive areas during the day if applicable.
Education
-Registered by the A.R.R.T. RT(R) and WV Medical Imaging License required or graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
-Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent science degree preferred.
