About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Infrastructure Lead to oversee enterprise infrastructure operations and lead the Systems Administration and Desktop Operations teams. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, operational management, infrastructure modernization, and strategic planning.
The Infrastructure Lead will serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and partner with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and technology vendors to maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment.
This position reports to the
Director of Enterprise Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop Systems Administration and Desktop Operations teams.
- Establish team priorities, service standards, operational procedures, and performance expectations.
- Manage staffing, performance evaluations, professional development, and succession planning.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents, outages, and complex technical issues.
- Oversee enterprise servers, cloud infrastructure, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, identity management, endpoint management, monitoring, and security platforms.
- Maintain infrastructure availability, performance, scalability, resiliency, and security.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, procedures, and operational controls.
- Lead infrastructure modernization, technology lifecycle management, capacity planning, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening initiatives.
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, cybersecurity, audit, and compliance programs.
- Monitor infrastructure health and implement proactive improvements to service reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to IT change management processes and procedures.
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning and implementation through operational transition.
- Partner with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors on technology initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, service delivery, contract performance, and issue resolution.
- Support acquisitions, new site deployments, infrastructure integrations, and other strategic business initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Provide technical guidance to IT staff and business users.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance, emergency support, and on-call rotations as needed.
- Travel up to 10% for infrastructure projects, site deployments, and operational initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise systems administration or infrastructure operations.
- 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing technical teams.
- Experience supporting large, geographically distributed environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, virtualization, backup and recovery, identity and access management, and cybersecurity practices.
- Experience managing infrastructure incidents, projects, operational priorities, and technical escalations.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting retail, multi-site, or geographically distributed operations.
- Experience with enterprise networking, storage, endpoint management, monitoring, observability, and security technologies.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity programs.
- Experience with technology audits, compliance initiatives, and governance frameworks.
- Experience managing technology vendors and service providers.
- Industry certifications in infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, cybersecurity, or IT service management.
Work EnvironmentThis is a
fully onsite position, five days per week. The role may require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work for scheduled maintenance, infrastructure projects, or emergency support.
Travel of up to
10% may be required.
