Web Content Specialist / Web Content Writer II

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A client with Kforce is seeking a Web Content Specialist/Web Content Writer II to join their team in San Diego, CA.

Summary:
As a Web Content Specialist, you'll write, update, and publish content for the client's customers and experts. They're often unsure what to ask, worried about getting it wrong, and sifting through sources that don't agree. Our job is to give them a clear answer and the confidence to keep going. This content shows up on the client's support website, inside the product as contextual help and in large language models, so how we write shapes the answers customers and experts get everywhere.

This work falls into three areas:
* Annual compliance updates: Review content assets and update them for the new tax year with precision, accuracy, and detail
* Content production: Work with stakeholders to write drafts, take them through review, then publish and check it live
* Data-backed content improvements: Examine a variety of data signals to identify areas of improvement in content; Translate insights into content edits

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English, Communications, Information Systems, or related field preferred
* Plain-language writing that makes complicated topics easy to follow, with a warm and direct voice
* Experience writing to a style guide and applying editorial feedback without friction
* Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably in the financial/tax or software industry
* Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Smartsheets, Markdown, Wordpress, HTML/CSS or XML
* Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Gemini
* Attention to findability: internal linking, tagging, taxonomy, and search behavior
* Strong self-management against fixed deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to adhering to content standards
* Ability to turn stakeholder and subject matter expert input into clear customer-facing content
* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
* Experience with structured authoring, documentation standards (ex. DITA) or content reuse principles is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
