Description Our client in the apparel industry is looking for a detail-oriented Technical Design Associate for a contract opportunity in Portland, Oregon. This role supports product development through sample evaluation, technical documentation, and coordination with production partners.
Location: Portland, OR
Schedule: Onsite with some flexibility later
Hours per week: 40
Requirements:- Review garment samples for measurement accuracy, construction, and consistency with design requirements.
- Support fit sessions by preparing samples, recording feedback, and documenting adjustments.
- Maintain technical specifications and illustrations in Adobe Illustrator.
- Communicate sample revisions and follow up with vendors on outstanding updates.
- Keep development records organized and flag issues that could affect deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to move products through review and approval.
Requirements - 2-4 years of technical design experience within apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and experience working with tech packs.
- Familiarity with garment construction, measuring samples, and fit evaluation.
- Strong follow-through, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Patternmaking, grading, or PLM system experience is a plus.
- Relevant education or equivalent hands-on experience.
