Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

The Scrum Master serves as a facilitator and Agile coach for up to two development teams. This role provides leadership in helping Agile teams adhere to Scrum principles while applying SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise) practices. The Scrum Master works both within and outside the team to remove impediments and foster an environment of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement through proactive communication with team members, management, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Focus the Agile team on delivering planned value and achieving stated objectives.
  • Reinforce SAFe framework and Scrum principles to keep teams aligned with goals.
  • Facilitate all standard Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Guide teams and the broader organization in the effective use of Agile and Scrum practices and values.
  • Coach teams on self-organization and how to fill intentional gaps within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Assess Scrum maturity of teams and the organization and coach toward higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace.
  • Address and eliminate impediments beyond the team's authority, engaging appropriate stakeholders as needed.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and coaching problem-solving.
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure alignment and information flow.
  • Support and educate Product Owners, particularly regarding backlog management and prioritization.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience: Six (6) years of relevant experience in business or development support, user story creation, writing, and estimation. Experience working with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies is required.

Certifications: First-level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) and/or SAFe Practitioner certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) years of project management experience, preferably within Information Technology.
  • Second-level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II) and/or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master certification.
  • Six (6) years of experience serving as a Scrum Master for software development teams.
  • Knowledge of other Agile frameworks and practices such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, or FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques including user stories, ATDD, TDD, continuous integration, continuous testing, pairing, and automated testing.
  • Working knowledge of SAFe.
Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is $55.00 to $60.00 per hour. A background check is required for this role.
