IT Systems Administrator | Zeeland, MI

Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Zeeland that are seeking skilled IT Systems Administrators. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux) and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Administer and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi access points.
• Implement, monitor, and maintain data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across the manufacturing facility.
• Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems through regular patching, vulnerability assessments, and access control management.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of manufacturing-specific software and hardware.
• Document IT processes, configurations, and inventory for efficient system management and compliance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Proven experience with network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting manufacturing-specific systems (e.g., SCADA, MES, PLC connectivity).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing security measures.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and data backup/recovery solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA or MES systems.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for operational technology (OT) environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies in a production setting.
• Scripting proficiency (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of routine tasks.
